To fetch the daily crime data, the application uses an API offered by the San Francisco Police Department. Crime reports are submitted by officers or the general public using SFPD’s online reporting system, with data being added to the database after the incident reports have been reviewed and approved by a supervising Sergeant or Lieutenant.
