Buy me a coffee

A simple utility to generate signed certificate files to allow local control of a Lutron Caseta smart bridge.

Deprecation warning

This add-on is in a deprecated state!

This add-on used to be helpful when in need of getting the signed certificates of your Lutron Caseta smart bridge in order to use it with Home Assistant.

Nowadays, Home Assistant does support/help with this itself and this add-on is therefore no longer needed.

If you want to integrate Lutron Caseta with Home Assistant, than follow the instructions on the Home Assistant Lutron Caseta integration documentation page:

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/lutron_caseta/#configuration

addon-lutron-cert's Issues

Lutron folder created under SSL folder but folder empty - Failed to import CasΓ©ta bridge configuration

Problem/Motivation

certificate add-on seems to work fine - logs are happy I believe but no certificates are being made. using Version
2020.12.7 on Rpi4 and latest lutron cert
Logs - 20-12-29 19:36:39 WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.validate] Unknown options lutron_caseta

Expected behavior

put the certs into yaml and it will connect bridge locally - cannot do this with my missing cert info

Actual behavior

click web UI link within the lutron cert add-on - link cannot open and it displays the URL of my home assistant DNS setup with port :5817 at the end eg "http://blakeandevon.duckdns.org:5817/" - when i tried the first time the other day it would prompt from lutron login and then an error message came up and looked like a token or code was at the end of the error URL (when it did actually take me to a proper link) cannot reproduce what happened on my initial attempt to add the integration.

Steps to reproduce

Can provide screen shots
logs from Home Assistant above

Proposed changes

(If you have a proposed change, workaround or fix,
describe the rationale behind it)

Certificates not generating

Problem/Motivation

Only casetra.key generated.

Expected behavior

Other two certs not generated.

Actual behavior

Received the below
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

Steps to reproduce

(How can someone else make/see it happen)

Proposed changes

(If you have a proposed change, workaround or fix,

Can not finish install

Problem/Motivation

Setup does not prompt user for login credentials

Expected behavior

-Click "OPEN WEB UI"
-pop up with "Click here to login to Lutron" for login credentials
-prompt for login
-provide credentials
-receive error
-copy URL
-edit config
-reset & done

Actual behavior

-Click "OPEN WEB UI"
-pop up with "Click here to login to Lutron" for login credentials

-receive error
-copy URL
-edit config
-Notification "Invalid config
The following integrations and platforms could not be set up:
lutron_caseta
Please check your config."
-reset, still disabled

Steps to reproduce

attempt install

Proposed changes

Bring back login. I've done this integration before, I'm just doing a fresh install of HA.

Error 500 when two homes on one account

Problem/Motivation

I have two homes and two Lutron hubs on the same network. The script works great but only on one of the hubs. When I specify the IP of the second hub I get error 500 "Internal server error" and do not get back the three certificate files.

Expected behavior

Start the script
Sign in using the Lutron account
Grab the "error" URL
Enter the IP of the first hub
Generate certificates
Stash certificates somewhere for safekeeping
Start over
Sign in using Lutron account (same account for 2nd home)
Grab the "Error" URL
Enter IP of the second hub
Generate certificates
Stash certificates somewhere for safekeeping
Move certificates and modify configuration.yaml as necessary

Actual behavior

Start the script
Sign in using the Lutron account
Grab the "error" URL
Enter the IP of the first hub
Generate certificates
Stash certificates somewhere for safekeeping
Start over
Sign in using Lutron account (same account for 2nd home)
Grab the "Error" URL
Enter IP of the second hub
ERROR CODE 500 - Internal Server Error

2 certificate files are generated, but not the caseta-bridge.crt

Steps to reproduce

(How can someone else make/see it happen)

Proposed changes

(If you have a proposed change, workaround or fix,
describe the rationale behind it)

I was able to get this working by using a separate Lutron account for each hub and installing the certificates. This is not an optimal solution as it gives up easy switching between homes in the Lutron app. I tried grabbing the certificates from each hub using the same Lutron account but the removing and adding the account to the hub seems to change the certificate, so this doesn't work.

Lutron devices quit showing in HA

#Lutron Caseta devices no longer available in HA

(Why the issue was filed)They have bee working flawlessly for a couple of years

Expected behavior

(What you expected to happen)

Actual behavior

(What actually happened) Updated to the latest version of HA 117.6

Steps to reproduce

(How can someone else make/see it happen)

Proposed changes

(If you have a proposed change, workaround or fix,
describe the rationale behind it)
