Probably need to mask which tiles to send so when panning to only retrieve the new tiles coming into view that aren't already filled. More control from the client side

This has been a nuisance issue. Need to make a simple tests case to present to the ws people.

I don't open one socket for the duration of a user session; open and close edit operation of a dataset. Maybe I should look for a way to do it without ws; will look up the spec a bit

Adding compression algorithms. Images have their ideal compressions. The question of lossy is complicated when working a dual ws interface. The quality can't go down over repeated transfer cycles

Other data may need at least gz compression.
Not sure what dependency is good to introduce to this layer.
