bxr-bayesian-regression's Issues

Version message from Mac BXRclassify and BXRtrain executables says "Linux"

Here's report for BXRtrain. BXRclassify has same issue.

--What steps will reproduce the problem?

   command line: BXRtrain -v

--What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output: version: 3.21, Mac Executable compiled under OSX 10.4
(Tiger)

Actual output: version: 3.21 Linux Executable

--What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

See above. Was running on Mac OSX 10.5.7

autosearch problem

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run BXRtrain with --autosearch
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
***Exception: Inconsistent 'HyperParamPlan' setting

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Linux - 3.21

Please provide any additional information below.

I get the following error when I run BXRtrain with the --autosearch flag:
 ***Exception: Inconsistent 'HyperParamPlan' setting

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Ben

symbolic label names

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use symbolic (string-valued) class labels in training file
2. Pass --symbolic option to BXRTrain

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The report file should acknowledge multiple classes in the training data,
but only reports the existence of a single class. Everything looks fine if
numeric, non-zero class labels are used.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The Nov. 13 version on Windows.

Please provide any additional information below.
I notice in CommandLine.cpp the following comment:

"4.1 symbolic feature reading;"

Perhaps --symbolic only applies to features at present?

Problem with BXRtrain (BBRtrain works)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run BXRtrain for a binary problem (BBRtrain works with this data)
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Training never converges. I see "SLEEP###" messages instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Linux binaries

Please provide any additional information below.
BBRtrain seems to work fine with this particular problem. My command line
looked like this:

./bin/BXRtrain -b 1 -V 1.0 --pos -p 1 data.bbr bbr.mod

BXRtrain source doesn't include msvc directory

The BXRtrain directory in the source repo doesn't include the msvc
directory, as mentioned in the README. I'm assuming the repo is simply
under construction, but I thought I'd record the issue anyway.
