Data is everywhere today, and the tools to explore data have democratized enabling us all to be data scientists. This book explains how to tackle a broad range of data problems using graphics and simple models. The examples come from our own experiences in working with different data problems over the last decade. The chapters in this book describe these analyses, the process that went into making the data plots, and what we learned about the problems underlying the data. The first half of the book grows from a course taught to graduate students on "data technologies" - the first step for any analysis is to get the data into a shape that can be explored.

Data host sites change and cause the book to not compile
Need to use some sort of caching/hosting service to make the data more persistent.
Tidying up and making book available
This book grew too much and it was way too ambitious to think we could wrangle it all together into something presentable. We could reduce it to primarily the case studies, with only a few of the absolutely necessary chapters.
At least it is compiling again now.
Then it needs to have the web page built automatically, and made available using the Pages tool on the GitHub repo.
The docs
folder is now added to the repo, so this is possible.
Should we have an organisation so that all of us can change the settings for the repo??
