# using ansible to configure a web server

Let's imagine we have a VM running on http://13.39.22.103/. I want to have a web page running on Apache on that server.

Create a playbook which

- Gathers facts and runs privileged
- Installs httpd with the yum module
- Enables and starts the httpd service with the systemd module
- Configure the ServerAdmin email address with the lineinfile module and reload the httpd service with a handler. Add something like ServerAdmin [email protected] in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf.
- Create a custom home page (/var/www/html/index.html) with the template module, and a Jinja2 template file
- Give all tasks a suitable name

## installing ansible

On Ubuntu:

  sudo apt update
  sudo apt install software-properties-common
  sudo add-apt-repository --yes --update ppa:ansible/ansible
  sudo apt install ansible

Test the installation with 

  ansible --version

## Run the ansible playbook

This will execute the playbook on our inventory:

  ansible-playbook -i inventory playbook.yml

## Testing the web page

Go on http://13.39.22.103/
