create-svelte

Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by create-svelte.

Creating a project

If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!

# create a new project in the current directory
npm create svelte@latest

# create a new project in my-app
npm create svelte@latest my-app

Developing

Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

npm run dev

# or start the server and open the app in a new browser tab
npm run dev -- --open

Building

To create a production version of your app:

npm run build

You can preview the production build with npm run preview.

To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.

bug: deployment fails because @trpc/client is not defined in package.json file

I got this bug when deploying the project on vercel. It works fine on my machine (the classic), but when deploying on vercel somehow it says, can not resolve @trpc/client. This is completely valid error but i am unable to figure out why it works on my machine.

chore: log system for backend

A log system will be necessary step towards building robust and debug-easy back-end. The system will provide consistent and functional way to log a message.

Roadmap

bug: rejected and accepted requests does not effect behaviour of actions in FindFriendsDrawer item

Problem

Suppose A sends a request to B. When B rejects the request, if A searches name of B in search bar, it will still show "Request Sent". This should not be expected behaviour as it should show "Add" action button.

bug(security): completeUserProfile mutation does not check for existing username

This bug can be responsible for allowing any user to update their username anytime even if the same username is assigned to another user. The problem exists in completeUserProfile mutation route, which does not check if the input username is already assigned to another user.

Solution

To check if the username is already assigned.

migration: from `lucide-icon` to `@iconify/svelte`

Problem with Lucide Icons

Lucide Icon has a great set of icons that i have been using. I have no particular problem with its design system, but rather its limitations. Lucide Icons have limited range in terms of variety. Lucide icons lacks; filled icons, duo tone, etc...

What is Special about Iconify

Iconify has over 200,000 icons with all variants like, filled, duo tone, animated, etc... that i would like to use. Also, Iconify has string based icon classifiers instead of component based. I am thinking this might make it non-tree-shakable but i am not considering it important as of now.

vercel analytics & speed-insights loaded when doing self-hosting

Problem

as of now, the deployment is specific to vercel due to @vercel/analytics & @vercel/speed-insights packages. This can be problematic when doing self-hosting.

Solution

By checking if the deployment environment is vercel, we can manually load these packages.

patch: missing title from landing page

The page title is missing from landing page (/).
