access caniuse.com information on the command line

$ caniuse websocket

$ caniuse indexdb

It is also possible to update caniuse meta information with the following command:

$ caniuse --update
Already up-to-date.

With App::CanIUse it is possible to query caniuse from the command line.

Clone caniuse rawdata into $HOME/.caniuse

$ git clone https://github.com/Fyrd/caniuse.git $HOME/.caniuse

Clone CanIUse repo and install

$ git clone https://github.com/hernan604/App-CanIUse.git
$ cd App-CanIUse
$ perl Makefile.PL && make && make install

After the App::CanIUse is installed you can add this entry in .vimrc:

command! -nargs=+ Caniuse !caniuse <args>

and in vim, you can call:

:Caniuse websocket

Or, if you prefer, you can use this other alternative and bind to F4.

:map <F4> "zyiw:exe "! caniuse ".@z.""<CR>

position your cursor under a word inside a buffer ie: "websocket" then press F4.
