It's worth noting that there are probably several more things preventing HexFiend from working properly on 10.6; it's possible that the minimum requirements have crept up as far as 10.8.

Okay, gonna pull the plug here: building on old versions of Xcode is definitely no longer supported. Furthermore, the XIBs are now using some 10.7 features, so 10.6 is also no longer supported. (FWIW a quick patch for one last 10.6 release doesn't seem too hard, but I'm not going to try because it'd be a pain to set up a 10.6 env and test to ensure that everything really works.)
