It looks like somebody has copied the description from the ridiculousfish web page and put HexFiend on the App Store for $20, $10 for a limited time - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hex-fiend/id647693488?mt=12

Wow, that's bad. Somebody (ideally somebody with copyright on parts of Hex Fiend) should report this to Apple, so that this rip-off gets removed from the Mac App Store. It seems very likely that the people who created Hex Fiend do not get a single cent of those sales.

Well, or perhaps one of the other forms at http://www.apple.com/legal/contact/ (there is one for "knockoff products", too, but I suppose the App store entry is most relevant here).

LOL. They even forgot to change the name in the description!

The first thing these guys don't get, is because something is OpenSource, there are still copyright and in most cases you cannot just change the license to closed source.

It sucks that there are knockoffs taking advantage of open source, but all you can do is contact Apple about it and hope they address it. I've known about other violations with the MAS such as apps using root access and other shady doings. Seems Apple doesn't care much for the integrity of its store.

(Apple cares a LOT about the integrity of its store, if you know of any malware on the AppStore they'd appreciate you reporting that.)
