It's more the unified environment (app) that would be appealing. I could also see potential futures scenarios where creating notebooks locally and then easily uploading them for remote execution from the same interface could be quite useful. But that's implying a few more additional features, at least, so I'll keep my request to the simpler case for now.

I'd also love this feature. I see "Open external URL if it's a server" on the todo.
Additionally, it would be really convenient to be able to use SSH directories shared in the Files app. No need for extensive SSH integration, but I'd love to be able to work from my remote files shared by Secure ShellFish, and/or use the kernels therein. It seems like Carnets is already most of the way there re: the former. Many cells run fine and saves are reflected instantly on my remote, but any operations involving paths fail. I could go into more detail / shared logs if any of the devs are interested.

This was not a feature I had thought of doing, but technically it's relatively simple.
This being said, apart from the extended keyboard, you would not gain much in terms of user interface compared to a standard web browser like Safari.

also accessing self hosted notebooks with safari can be annoying if you don't already have https certificates set up, safari just refuses to connect to the kernel. An app to get round that would be nice. (and juno isn't exactly cheep)

Now that thing about ShellFish is very interesting. ShellFish is one of the few (the only?) file providers on iOS that uses Apple's API, so it should be feasible to integrate with Carnets (unlike Dropbox, Drive and the others). I'd love to get more details about what is failing (and especially error messages, if you have them).

Not sure about cloud providers, but ShellFish is probably the only SSH client with fully-featured Files integration. Blink doesn't allow write access.
I'll report back with errors some time this week. As a reminder to myself, I frequently get fatal errors stemming from pycache issues when messing around with remote files on my phone, so I changed its permissions -- I'll do some A/B testing on that with Carnets, not sure which app(s) produced the broken .pyc files.
