The strategy has always been to recommend brew install svn, which is exactly what we see in the logs you've provided.

I see. The problem with that is the discrepancy between the output of brew doctor and then actually attempting a font cask installation — one thing says you're good to go, while the other says you need something else. Wouldn't a better experience be either:
a) When one uses brew doctor, reminding the user (if they are on Monterey or above) that subversion is required for some font cask installations
b) Automatically installing the subversion dependency when attempting a cask installation and svn isn't found in the system?
I definitely saw the suggestion in the log, and I know how to solve the issue in my own case, but it felt surprising to me that it wasn't handled automatically, or that there was no warning/notice when using doctor. Homebrew always felt like it aimed for the principle of least astonishment, and this one interaction felt different.
