ursa-docs's Introduction

Documentation for Ursa

Hyperledger Ursa was moved to EOL at the TOC meeting on 27 APR 2023.

This repository is for documentation, specifications, and anything else for ursa.

Documents are broken down into the following folders:

  • src is used for documenting the APIs and how to use the ursa library. Ursa uses mdBook for now.
  • bin is used for scripts used to compile any context in src
  • website is the published content from running bin scripts
  • specs is used for papers and specifications that are written in Latex.

ursa-docs's Issues

rename master branch

Summary

We should rename the branch master to main and use that going forward for our work.

From Problematic Terminology in Open-Source on master/slave terminology in software:

Use of this term is problematic. It references slavery to convey meaning about the relationship between two entities.

Removing this terminology from our workflow is a small gesture to include more people from marginalized groups in this project.

(Iโ€™m open to names other than main)

Technical Steps

  • create main branch from master
  • make main the default GitHub branch
  • modify github/central to use main for release notes reloading
  • redirect PRs to main in hyperledger/ursa-docs
  • move branch protections from master to main
  • modify docs to reference main instead of master
  • delete master branch to avoid confusion?
