expandablelayout's Introduction

ExpandableLayout

Expandable LinearLayout

Setup

Dependency

allprojects {
    repositories {
        ...
        maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
    }
}

dependencies {
    compile 'com.github.iammert:ExpandableLayout:1.4.1'
}

Layout

<iammert.com.expandablelib.ExpandableLayout
    android:id="@+id/el"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="match_parent"
    app:parentLayout="@layout/layout_parent"
    app:childLayout="@layout/layout_child"/>

Set renderer

expandableLayout.setRenderer(new ExpandableLayout.Renderer<FruitCategory, Fruit>() {
    @Override
    public void renderParent(View view, FruitCategory model, boolean isExpanded, int parentPosition) {
        ((TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.tvParent)).setText(model.name);
    }

    @Override
    public void renderChild(View view, Fruit model, int parentPosition, int childPosition) {
        ((TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.tvChild)).setText(model.name);
    }
});

Set listeners

expandableLayout.setExpandListener(new ExpandCollapseListener.ExpandListener<FruitCategory>() {
    @Override
    public void onExpanded(int parentIndex, FruitCategory parent, View view) {
        //Layout expanded
    }
});

expandableLayout.setCollapseListener(new ExpandCollapseListener.CollapseListener<FruitCategory>() {
    @Override
    public void onCollapsed(int parentIndex, FruitCategory parent, View view) {
        //Layout collapsed
    }
});

Add section or children

Section<FruitCategory, Fruit> section = new Section<>();

//defaut is false
section.expanded = true;

FruitCategory fruitCategory = new FruitCategory("Fruits");
Fruit fruit1 = new Fruit("Apple");
Fruit fruit2 = new Fruit("Orange");

section.parent = fruitCategory;
section.children.add(fruit1);
section.children.add(fruit2);

expandableLayout.addSection(section);
expandableLayout.addChild(fruitCategory, new Fruit("Grape"));

Filter parent and children

//make your parent class filterable
class FruitCatefory implements Filterable{}

//make your child class filterable
class FruitCatefory implements Filterable{}

Now, you can search in parents or children. Layout will be updated automatically.

expendableLayout.filterParent("SEARCH PARAM")
//or
expendableLayout.filterChildren("SEARCH PARAM")

expandablelayout's Issues

Scroll to certain position

Hey!

I am currently using this library because it suits my use-case just fine, but I want to implement a method in which to scroll to a certain child of the list.

Obviously, the current flow to make this view scrollable is wrapping it with a ScrollView, but as such I cannot scroll to a certain item.

How could I implement this using the library as it is? Or do I have to necessarily fork it and implement as a RecyclerView?

Thanks!

defalut is Open,but i what I need is closed...

 for (PayDetail payDetail : loanDetails.getRepaymentList()) {
        Section<PayDetail, PayDetail> section = new Section<>();
        section.parent = payDetail;
        section.children.add(payDetail);
        section.expanded = false;
        binding.elLoanList.addSection(section);
        binding.elLoanList.addChild(payDetail, payDetail);

    }.

still is open.

Remove onClick

Hi

i dont wanna that my list collapse when i do onClick in the parent, i tried with "clickeable = "false"" and "setOnClickListener(null)" but didnt works

some suggestion? ty for all and sorry for my bad english

Big brother

public <P, C> void addChildren(P parent, List children)

Is it superfluous?

I can not use filterParent in my main activity.

I can not use filterParent in my main activity, I'm new to programming. Sorry, I'm using google translator.

  layoutExpandable.filterParent ("SEARCH PARAM");

I'm using the so in my class:

public class City implements Filterable {

     public String nameCity;

     public City (String cityName) {
         this.nomeCity = nameCity;
     }

     @Override
     public Filter getFilter () {
         return null;
     }
}

Problem with removeViewAt

after use method removeviewat in the position 0 and trying to expand the first new one, I got an error: getChildAt of a null object references.
how to do it correct ?

No reload children if layout is expanded

HI I've tried to reload the view after an event occur(Button). I call notifyParentChanged(index), this affects only the parent, no the children. If someone have the same issue, as a workaround I save all the views while renderChild and call my private reloadChildren after notifiParentChanged.
