This should work the way you described it. Do you know which version you're using? Amethyst uses window titles to differentiate between spaces, so if you have all (or even most of) the same apps open on two different spaces, Amethyst might have a hard time telling them apart.

See Issue #2 for some history.

I'm using the 0.8 direct download version from your website and I'm running it on 10.8.5. The apps and windows which are open are different. Right now I have a space with only finder windows and 2 spaces with different apps (terminal, twitter, imessages, mail, etc) + chrome in fullscreen. When ever I change the layout on one space and switch to another, the layout will be changes in the new space as well.

EDIT: Alright I checked it again, this time with only finder windows in the first space and only terminal windows in the second. Unfortunately same behaviour.

Do you mean changing the parameters of the layout (e.g. Increasing main pane size) or switching layouts (e.g. From tall to full screen)?

I tried both and the behaviour was the same in both cases.

Ah. @dhgwilliam had it right. The most recently released version doesn't have this feature yet, though master does. I'll try to get a release out soon with this included.

There is one more aspect to this which is that each space does not have a unique set of layout objects, so the parameters are shared, which they should not be.
