casting pointer->int->pointer has a side effect that the optimizer cannot remove: it discards provenance information. You should use *c_void or *const c_void instead as the erased type. Also Zig needs a const cast that doesn't involve ptrToInt.

This might not be the goal, but my version had separate types for SinglePointer, ManyPointer, Slice, etc. That allowed me to avoid serializing the pointer part of the type, so I could deserialize a *u32 as *const u32 or ?u32 without incurring a type violation. This meant extra code to strip attributes and optionals all the way down the type chain when creating type ids, so []?const u32 would be normalized to []*u32 and then I would use the type id of that.

It would be really nice if you could add a LICENSE file, so that others can use this code safely.

Change null_pointer to reflect the actual address of the null address

This is actually a Zig issue: ziglang/zig#6706
