Have you tried to install from the feature-dplyr-backend branch? This should treat DATETIME/DATE and BIT types correctly.

Hmm, I tried, the type of datetime can be successfully identified as POSIXct, now.

However, the bit type column's value will be all NA. And for date type, it'd still be transformed to char. Below is the detail:

By the way, I installed your package like this:

devtools::install_github("imanuelcostigan/RSQLServer", ref = "feature-dplyr-backend", dependencies = FALSE)

I think it's the correct way to install the branch, right?

Can you please debug jdbcToRType and report the value of match(type, mapping, 1) toward the end of the function for the columns being interpreted incorrectly?

Sorry for the late reply. I use the latest version of the pkg but still get the NA value.
