Running Permissions.apk doesn't seem to work on a GSM Galaxy Nexus running the
latest OTA'd 4.1.1 firmware.
I see the splash screen, and then the "Do or Do not there is no try" screen
with no list of apps.
Superuser does not report an su request from Permissions unless I use the
three-dot ActionBar thingy to request a reboot.

Can i suggest a possible collaboration effort with Svyat of PDroid?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357056
The whole point is to take back control of _OUR_ devices. This is a critically
important project and we should all be working together to produce one large
collaborative effort to finally give us peace of mind and privacy of our
information.
Both your project and PDroid are aiming to do the same thing. Both are open
efforts (although PDroid currently only has a downloadable source package and
no actual repo - since Svyat has no time).
Both projects seem to differ in approach (Yours requiring Root, and his with a
kernel patch). Both have caveats and i think a combined open source solution is
the best approach.
Also PDroid seems to be lacking in terms of manpower (i think largely due to no
central repo). Perhaps a github project will be nice (since you can have a
master branch combining patching/root and separate branches for root/patch only
if people prefer).
We need to address issues of persistence, compatibility across all ROM's and to
make a download-go solution since the people that suffer the most are the
masses that do not possess the skills/knowledge to look out for themselves.
I'll be more than happy to lend a hand any way i can - but i am not a Java guy
so the actual coding is the one area im unable to help out in. This is a really
important project and we need a fully working solution ASAP.

Samsung Galaxy S 2.3.3 (official)
Permissions does not detect some installed applications, such as GO SMS or
Handcent SMS. They are installed, but not in the list.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install it in a ICS device.
2. Apply some restrictions
3. After reboot to apply changes, device is rebooting without any way to break
this loop to restore default permissions.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that some apps (no system apps) don't have certain permissions if they
don't need (such coarse location in order to show specific ads)
An infinite loop of reboots is that I can see.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Cyanogen Mod 9.1 (Ice Cream Sandwich), with default kernel, running in a SGS
(I9000).

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. from main screen, determine total number of permissions of an app =: N
2. select app; disable a number of D permissions; return to main screen
3. reboot
4. Count total number of permissions of the app on main screen
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a) After step 2, I'd expect listed N permissions, D disabled. Instead it lists
N permission, 0 disabled. But this might be ok, since a reboot is still
necessary. However:
b) at step 4 I'd definitely expect listed N permission, D disabled. But
instead, it shows N-1 permissions, 0 disabled. The disabled permission also
does not show up on the detail screen for the app.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.3 on Android 2.1 (rooted standard ROM Build JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1 -
branded Vodafone/with MotoBlur) on Motorola Defy.
Please provide any additional information below.
Thanks for the great app!

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Save a configuration
2. Get a new app
3. Load configuration
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
New apps that were there before the load are forgotten - they disappear from
the list...
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Most current. EVO 3D, 2.3 OS, CleanROM
Please provide any additional information below.
Sometimes a preview of the apps' permissions in settings helps, or rebooting the phone, to see the new apps initially.
Additional Request:
Please allow System apps to be (UN)permitted, that way we can see the universal
effects in advanced settings, not to mention, see what the apps are really up
to... :-)
Rebooting-sticking solution:
Titanium backup allows me to convert the app into a system app, which allows me
to have it start before everything else, and have the permissions stick! If you
could have the app convert itself into a system app, it should help fix the
stick-at-boot glitch, or potentially solve it right off hand...

What steps will reproduce the problem?

2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect this to scan the apps and rebuild permissions as suggested by a
user submited database. This database could be performed by statiscs, but
should also have some kind of discussion system, like coments at least
It should detect changes in apps and rebuild their permissions
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Htc Magic 32b
Gingerbread 2.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Android Permission on Samsung Intercept
2. Open the program, and click on a program for it's permissions
3. Click on any permission. It will force close immediately.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected it to give me more information, and preferably block the needed
permissions.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.3 on 2.2 Froyo

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install app from market place (tested with "iLbert" and "Chess Free"
2. choose to disable WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or READ_PHONE_STAT permission
3. reboot
4. Check permissions
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The specific permission is expected to be disabled. Instead, there is no change
on the shown permissions.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.3 on Android 2.1 (rooted standard ROM Build JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1 -

The program works fine on my SGS2. The interface is cool, but maybe it could be
some more convenient to use.
Now there is a list of applications, and you can see what permissions are given
to each one. In some cases it is more convenient to see the opposite: a list of
permissions, in which you can see what applications are given with each one.
For example: I have a lot of applications installed, and someone uses the
internet. I have to examine each one to find out, which should be corrected.
And if I had a list suggested above, I just open "Internet" permission, and see
that it can be used by Opera, IM, Skype and a dozen of stupid games.
