RoboSim is released under GPL version 2 or later. Developed by Torsten Kammer in the Leraning Technologies Research Group (RWTH Aachen University), originally as a Bachelor thesis and further development as a student worker.
For currently unknown reasons, the app does not start properly on some Windows computers. This appears to be directly related to the computer (or more specifically the Windows installation), as I have not been able to get it running on computers where it doesn't start, or reproduce the issue on ones where the app works normally. It does seem to happen more with Windows XP; at least I haven't heard any other reports for newer systems.
This is not related to OpenGL drivers. The crash appears before the OpenGL system starts up.
Saving the last changes of the map in a local file at the end of the simulator till the next start.

This is a cool simulator.
Build-instructions and instructions on how to integrate a self-compiled version into the BricxCC editor (as offered here: https://schuelerlabor.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/roboter-simulator) would allow to extend the simulator and fix potential bugs.
