Configs in mock labs are for FE interfaces, and in VIRL they are all Gigs. Furthemore, they are grouped by 4 (0/0 - 0/3), and the numbering is wrong as well. I believe the L3 PC is not supported as well, so this need to be changed to SVI.
The files below contain initial configs of "ÿþe". VM Maestro cannot interpret this string and refuses to open the topology. Removing the string so the initial config is an empty value resolves the issue.

Under the Advanced Technology Labs section, several .virl files are missing router configurations. Any file recently updated with "Removing configs with illegal characters from .virl topologies" only has R1 configuration. Routers 2-10 configuration is missing. If you look at the old versions of these files, the other configurations are present. Would it be possible to get those configurations back in the files?
VIRL files do not have place holders for management interfaces, nor set the mgmt_ip extension that instructs VIRL to console in and manually set the management IP of the device. This also allows one to monitor the management reachability of a node via the VM Maestro simulation screen.
Additionally, configuration templates should allow telnet on the management interfaces where possible.
I'd be happy to submit a pull request with modified .virl files, as my preferred workflow is a tmux session on the LXC host instead of utilizing console ports.

The router configs fail to build on R7 & R8 on the "inter.as.l3vpn" labs.
In the XML, it appears to have "ÿþh" as the config for both.
Encoding issues?
When I click on quick launch to load INE-VIRL CCIE.RSv5.Workbook advanced.technology.labs basic.bgp.routing.virl this is what I get
Failed to launch basic.bgp.routing.virl: STD simengine-launch request [POST] http://localhost:19399/simengine/rest/launch?file=basic.bgp.routing.virl received invalid response status 403 (Failed to license simulation.)
any idea what is this? I am running virl on a vm
Anyone experiencing this error? What is the work around?
Failed to start simulation "INE.CCIE.SPv4.Bootcamp.Troubleshooting.Lab.1.broken.configs-iQ796q": OpenStack call to Network2_0.create_ports received invalid response status 400 (Bad Request) with error "InvalidIpForNetwork: IP address 172.16.1.99 is not a valid IP for any of the subnets on the specified network."
Where can I locate the VIRL topologies for the Redistribution Labs from the v5 Workbook?

Hi,
for my CCIE preparation I have the INE Workbook and currently I am trying to setup the VIRL Lab. I have successfully installed VIRL and imported the INE Lab via Github, however, I can currently only connect via the WebSocket telnet connection because all the nodes are UNREACHABLE.
I spent the whole day researching into VIRL and VMware switching to find a solution and currently I am at the point where I noticed that the problem seems to be the Gi0/0 interfaces of the virtual routers / switches.
Via SSH I can connect to the LXC but from there on only if the Gi0/0 is cofigured via "ip address dhcp" and "no shutdown", but all the Gi0/0 interfaces are in "shutdown" by default.
Is this intended by INE? If so, why? And can someone tell me how to change this? I know I could probably edit the config files on all the routers, but it will take forever to do so for each of the different labs.
I am very grateful for each advice, since I want to start my lab preparation full time and this already costs me some time and nerves. :-)
Kind regards
I am just using the full scale and the troubleshooting labs. I only found problems with those two. The problem is the same in both cases: only 2 routers respond, the rest do not respond, not even when doing telnet to the console.
Please could you update this files, fixing the encode issues:
carrier.supporting.carrier
inter.as.l3vpn.option.c
inter.as.l3vpn
Which are in "CCIE.SPv4.Workbook"
I not able to initialize nodes R7- R8. The issue is:

The others routers are working properly.
Many thanks
Hi @ALL,
I have a new ver, of CML and VIRL is not longer used by Cisco. I`m trying to open those files and I cannot open those in New CML.
It said that it has to be made in a new version to open .virl file in CML.
Can you help me with these issues ? I think that you have to upload those excercise to a new format that is .CML
Regards,
This seems to be a problem in IOL and VIRL. The ipv6 lab configs do not work for the advanced technology labs. Only R1 loads the initial configs.
The CCIE RSv5 Workbook IPv6 Labs only have R1 config, not the other router configs

Cannot open the CCIE.SPv4.Bootcamp labs, is there a lock on those I can open all the SP advanced technologies labs but not any of the bootcamp labs. Please help I would like the advanced challenge of working on them.
The VIRL sandbox lab server inside Cisco DevNet is not able to connect to devices in the VIRL files from the CCIE.Elv1.Bootcamp repository.
It looks like the management IP adresses has to be inside the pre-defined IP ranges inside the VIRL sandbox server.
