To select date and time, it allows the user to select a date but it does not have the option to select a time.

If the options are not checked , to not to miss an intervention a red cross sign will help, instead of green check

Registration of the baby is by capturing the mother's details, gender, skin color at birth, weight and birth date and time. This screen also allows for a profile picture of the neonate.

It will be easy on work for a nurse if "DISCHARGE" button is added on the top right of this page, which on-click should open the intervention page, and show check marks on the activities completed for each time-interval.

Once the interventions are completed and checked by the user, the changes made should be saved even after going to the next intervention.

Once logged in, to add a baby into the system, it leads to a create a baby page, where child no, bed no, mothers name is captured. In this page, I would like to change the font color and size. There are also a grey shadow on the baby details and tab, which I think must go, as it serves no purpose. Changing the font will make the page look detailed, sharp and professional.

Features included are the location of the baby, time from birth and activities to be performed.

Use same plug-ins and processes as within the HBB Trainer module (see WICT paper).

After all, interventions are made, display child status, if it is normal, problem, or danger.

Once registered the user is taken to the list of babies that are color-coded and classified based on their condition. The page also has a sort by and additional filter button. The use of different colors would attribute to different levels of emergency thus reducing cognitive load and promote recognition rather than recall. Red: Danger, Yellow: Problem, Green: Normal, White: Child not classified yet.

The home screen is from where the workflow of the application begins and also branches out. At a glance, this screen gives the user accurate numbers on how many, patients have been admitted, discharged and are in danger. The main functionality of this screen is the registration and the list buttons that are tactfully placed in the thumb zone. Right at the end of the screen is the bottom navigation tab that is constant for all the screens throughout the application with additional features.

Once the baby is registered, and the phase one begins, rather than capturing the time elapsed form birth/ registered I would like to change the time format to time remaining.

The application that we have envisioned, should look professional, high-tech, up scaled and powerful, to do so I would like to put up minimum yet powerful content. So, having the same multiple titles make no sense, I would rather have just one title with the logo establishing the applications related with the MHBS (suite of apps) and then the application’s title. Thus I would alter the image file.

Once the baby is registered, the phase one begins i.e.: 0 -60 mins. I would like to change the title that is an image 0- 60 mins to occupy more space.

The envisioned application must reflect an easy to understand, uncomplicated clear-cut content. To achieve this it would be better if the details under each registered baby is in in form of a list.

In the create baby page, along with the child,bed number it is necessary to add ward , room and bed number of the child in the order of:

1. ward number
2. Room number
3. Bed number
4. Child number
   It is necessary to add the ward and room number because as soon as the baby is born, they do not move the mother and child immediately to the next room, and since our phase one starts from as soon as the baby is born, its is essential to add the following to the list.

Some text and time remaining are shown on the same line, a line break between those two might help see the text, and an arrow beside time doesn't have any function, maybe that can be removed.

This is the second screen is quite similar to the first page, with two text fields for the login and password. An additional feature is an emergency sign-in which uses the fingerprint to sign in.

The Login and Sign up Buttons are one below the other, in a block format. It makes the page look cluttered. Being so close to each other could also lead to mistakes. Thus, separating them to either side of the page would make the page look less cluttered and neat.

If a trainee is already registered in one other the mHBS/DHIS2 modules (e.g., HBB) when they then register for another HBS, HMS, or other module within mHBS_DHIS2, the existing information fills identical fields in the new registration for same trainee.

Some babies enrolled within the ECEB digital action plan will not survive to discharge. For these early neonatal deaths, health care providers should be encouraged to fill a perinatal death audit form.

As a placeholder, the perinatal death audit form currently programmed into the Helping Babies Breathe module (below) can be utilized for the initial prototype and any early usability testing.

The final version of a customized ECEB death audit form will have to have a few modifications, prior to more formal beta-testing.

After registering a baby, and 60 minutes pass the next phase will not begin even when all checks are marked. The add baby button from the baby registration page also appears at the bottom of the page for phase 1

Recording temperature: Instead of entering the temperature in numbers, it would be knowledgeable and interesting if there a temperature record slider with different level of complexity indicating in different colors.
