Simple script for growl notifications in irssi

WHO

INSTALL

Place these files in ~/.irssi/scripts/. Put your growl icon in there too.

/script load growl.pl

CONFIG

/SET growl_icon [filename]
/SET growl_on_regex [regex]
/SET growl_channel_regex [regex]

EXAMPLES

growl on mynickname

/SET growl_on_regex mynickname

growl on everything

/SET growl_on_regex .*

everything but jdewey

/SET growl_on_regex (?=^(?:(?!jdewey).)*$).*

only growl things for mychannel1 and mychannel2

/SET growl_channel_regex (mychannel1|mychannel2)

enable the icon

/SET growl_icon irssi-flame.png

Vulnerable to arbitrary command execution

Hi,

Just to let you know, your use of system() is vulnerable to arbitrary command execution (this situation is especially bad since it can be invoked by anyone over IRC). Filtering characters is not enough. Don't use system(), use a real subprocess spawner that doesn't involve using a shell.

using OR instead of AND in rule processing

or perhaps make it user configurable with growl_filter_type.

set growl_on_nick -> list of nicks to monitor?

currently it's 0/1 to monitor your own nick. perhaps that could be changed to growl_on_myself.
