Coderwall is built from the following open source components:

• Backbone.js
• ElasticSearch
• Ember.js
• jQuery
• MongoDB
• PostgreSQL
• Redis
• Ruby on Rails

Plus lots of Ruby Gems, a complete list of which is at /master/Gemfile.

We use Vagrant and VirtualBox to isolate and simplify the local development process.
