I believe these issues are related to 3 things:

  1. Not using the size provided in the ArrangeOverride for final rendering of the text but instead using ActualWidth/ActualHeight. I suspect there is an overall better fix regarding timings but the repo was only really a proof of concept ....
  2. When you begin drawing in Direct2D it gives you the 'pixel' offset to apply when rendering. Sometimes this can change a fair bit between each render. Its not like your typical system whereby when you render at 0,0 it will always appear at the same place. Whilst I was applying an offset to adjust for this, I was doing it in pixels not Dips. I have now applied an adjustment to convert to Dips.
  3. Slight adjustment to the measurement phase to not try and do arithmetic when either the width or height provided is infinite.
