Hi there,
There is a line in the README that states:
exec /path/to/i3-restore/i3-restore --interval
for saving the files.
Should this be:
exec /path/to/i3-restore/i3-save --interval
?
I thought I'd bring this to your attention.
Looking forward to using the plugin.
Thanks,
Pete

N/A
Likely typo, or otherwise embedded arguments within the script that may be counter-intuitive, but if so I apologise. Thanks.

I think this is good to have such information in the README - so people can grep and better understand before installing.

Hi, I did not try this software yet (but I will try, thanks for your work), but I think that this is impossible to restore a terminal window after su
command? Anyway, for new visitors, I think this is a good to mention in the README.
Side note: I added this to Gentoo GURU https://github.com/gentoo/guru/tree/master/x11-misc/i3-restore

I am not an expert in i3, but I found this page - looks like about the same session saving and restoring https://i3wm.org/docs/layout-saving.html
Read the README
See the difference of integrated session restoring.
Hi, thanks for putting the work into this.
I've had trouble installing on Ubuntu 22.04 (specifically Regolith-Desktop which uses that Ubuntu as a base)
I followed all the install instructions I think, but have hit this error:
./i3-save.sh
./i3-save.sh: line 36: /home/mixusername/.config/i3/workspace_2:<span font_desc="BitstreamVeraSansMono Nerd Font 12"> 2 </span>_layout.json: No such file or directory
I've ensured there is a folder ~/.config/i3
but that hasn't helped
Any pointers most appreciated โค๏ธ ๐
