bitcore-node's Introduction

There are some pain points in installing the bitcore wallet service and making it connect to a node that you control. (e.g this issue: bitpay/bitcore-wallet-service#643)

I have created this image to solve this.

Installs:

  • insight UI
  • insight API

To run an image for testnet (the default):

docker run --restart=unless-stopped -d --network=host -v /root/bitcoin-node --name livenet jeshan/bitcore-node

To run an image for livenet, specify an environment variable BITCOIN_NETWORK with value livenet:

docker run --env BITCOIN_NETWORK=livenet --restart=unless-stopped -d --network=host -v /root/bitcoin-node --name livenet jeshan/bitcore-node

Dockerfile available at: https://github.com/jeshan/bitcore-node

bitcore-node's Issues

livenet not working?

Sorry for bothering you but when I try:
docker run --env NETWORK=livenet --rm -P -v /root/bitcoin-node --name livenet jeshan/bitcore-node

It still is:
info: Using network: testnet

So, how to get it to use the livenet?

Anyhow, your readme can be improved (also the example names the livenetwork as testnet).

Unclear how to access the insight api

I'm rather new to docker, so I am risking to ask something obvious but I am totally lost. I am running the docker container and it syncs to the blockchain okay. But how can I access the insight API from outside the docker container? I basically tried http://localhost:everypossibleport wihtout luck. I think it must be something obvous that I am missing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Container does not start

Tried to run it in aws in rancheros

15/02/2018 15:31:21[dumb-init] ./bitcore-node-entrypoint.sh: No such file or directory

Cannot turn off rate limiter

I run in a too many requets problem. So I tried to turn of the ratelimiter by adding this in bitcore-node.json:

"servicesConfig": {
"insight-api": {
"disableRateLimiter": true
}
}

But then the container wont run at all anymore....

So, is there an easy way to turn off this ratelimit problem of the insight-api?
