It would be neat if a link to a note could be added to the home screen as a widget. Ideally, that widget would display a thumbnail of the note's comments.

This might just be an issue of adding the internet permission to the manifest so the app can access images from a URL on preview.

Preferred method: Google Drive

Instead of just having files, it could be great to have category folders. ;)

Would be great if writeily allowed us to choose an arbitrary directory on the SD card to save notes to by default. This also assumes the notes are written to file, rather than a database.

My goal would be to use this to manage the markdown files that I manage with Notational Velocity or nvALT on my laptop, which I would sync using a separate syncing app (like Dropbox or Seafile or whatever)

I would like to be able to open files with writeily via es explorer, or wuala, or whatever else.

Before, writeily was detected as markdown / text editor, so everytime I wanted to use a markdown file, it opened it to writeily. It doesn't work anymore. :(

Simple, should just be a one-way export to Dropbox or Drive (compensate for current lack of sync)

The app would be almost perfect for me if it had syntax highlighting. Are you considering adding this feature?
