demeter's Issues

Remove ensemble feature

It will be more desirable moving forward to have the ensemble feature external from Demeter. This will also simplify the file structure and for the user.

Enable pasture expansion for demeter

Currently all grass, pastures are mapped to Grass. We now have the ability to add in pasture expansion/transitions using latest base layer from moirai.

MODIS observed data for multiple crops (13 crops)

Hi.. I am trying to run Demeter to downscale land cover for the 13 crops included in GCAM instead for all crops combined. The current data provided with the example files provide the observed land cover on a grid scale for all cropland combined. Is it possible to provide a similar file but with the data for each GCAM crop instead ?

Integrate moirai base layer

Integrate the latest moirai base layer. This will mean more land types, and making demeter outputs consistent with latest moirai outputs. The outputs would all be 5 arcmin values.

The two large files in the example folder cannot be downloaded through LFS tool

Hello, I have cloned the Demeter and tried to run the example attached. However, the two large files in the example/inputs/observed and example/inputs/projected folders cannot be downloaded through the Git Large File Storage (LFS) tool. Only two csv files containing source file information can be downloaded.
Is there another way to download these two files?
Thanks so much!

configobj

Hi,

I am trying to run the example, but I got this error after import package.
Any advice,
Thanks, JL

import os from demeter.model import Demeter

/usr/local/lib/python3.6/dist-packages/demeter/config_reader.py in ()

gcam_reader requirement error

Hi!
I am trying to set up Demeter and when I type in the first instruction: python -m pip install git+https://github.com/JGCRI/demeter.git I get the following error:
"ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement gcam_reader==1.2.0 (from demeter) (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for gcam_reader==1.2.0"

Any hint of how can I solve this and get Demeter installed?

Thanks in advance!

The map function in the output module cannot be used in V1.2.0

Hello, I am currently trying to migrate from Demeter V1.1.0 to V1.2.0. It is very necessary to migrate the python version to 3.6 and above.
However, although the map function in the output module (such as the map_luc_pft option) is still retained in the config.ini of the example data, I checked the source code and found that the map function has been removed in the V1.2.0 version.
Is the map function permanently removed or just hasn't been added to V1.2.0 yet?
Thank you again for your efforts and hope to get your reply!

Split projected land class by observed fraction of final functional type

Add in an optional feature that will split a land class projection for a single type into multiple final functional types based on the fraction of area in the observed data for each subregion. For example, split GCAM's rockicedesert land class into snow and sparse by the fraction of snow and sparse in each subregion.
