jekyllcodex's Issues

Pagination for image gallery

Hello,

First off I would like to thank you for your site. Without-plugins is awesome. Being new to jekyll it has also helped me to understand more about how things work.

With your image-gallery I was wondering whether it is possible to paginate?

Your response is greatly appreciated.

webshop send form by php

Hi, I recreated my own site with your webshop implementation. The site is hosted on my webspace and the server is capable of php. I tried that the checkout form will be send over classic php to my mail.
I failed at trying to implement it. Could you give me a hint how your code has to be changed in order to send the mail this way?

Missing Some CSS Classes

cookie-consent.html (and some others, I think) uses some css classes that are not included in the html include itself -- they look like they assume Bootstrap is installed?:

  • class="btn btn-primary btn-sm"
  • class="btn btn-primary btn-sm"
<div id="cookie-notice">
  <span>We would like to use third party cookies and scripts to improve the functionality of this website.</span>
  <a id="cookie-notice-accept" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Approve</a>  <!-- here -->
  <a href="/privacy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">More info</a> <!-- and here -->
</div>

Instafeed alternative

Hi, I wasn't sure how best to contact you.

My question is in relation to your Instafeed alternative. I set up a zap by following your steps and adding the following settings;
Feed Title: {username}
Max Records: 5
Item Title: Caption: {caption text}
Source URL: {link}
Content: Tags: {tags}
Media URL: {images standard resolution url}
Media MIME Type: image/jpeg

I can pull in the feed with the js code you provided but all that shows are empty a tags, for example

It's like it can't parse what was added via Zap. I'm probably doing something completely wrong...

Plugin-free solution for modal window

Beste @jhvanderschee,
For AntennaPod (podcast app for Android) I would like to introduce a modal window on our website to inform visitors that we really prefer non-monetary contributions, when they click on the 'donate' link: AntennaPod/antennapod.github.io#122

Someone built the site for our open source project, and I do low-level maintenance & improvements. But I guess it'd involve JS and that's not something I can provide. Searching for 'modal window' solutions for Jekyll, I ended up on your website. Now I'm wondering: would you be willing to you be willing to prepare a plugin-free solution for modal windows & tailor it a bit to our need? Ik doe graag een donatie op persoonlijke titel.

M.v.g.

Need Jekyll Page view counter

First off, thank you for making your Jekyllcodex website! It's helped me a lot, and your GitHub issue-based comments are ingenious and exactly what I needed and was hoping for in comments!

Now, for this issue:

I'd like a way to track unique user page visits to my site. Any idea how to do this? Maybe you can come up with a solution and write about it here? https://jekyllcodex.org/without-plugins/

Possible tracks to get you started:

  1. https://github.com/brentvollebregt/hit-counter
  2. https://hitcounter.pythonanywhere.com/
  3. https://hits.dwyl.com/
  4. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57747640/how-to-implement-a-basic-page-view-counter-for-a-github-pages-powered-site
  5. Javascript to talk to some GitHub REST API (whatever this means) to store a variable on GitHub?
  6. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10970113/google-analytics-simple-visitors-count

Ideally it would rely on only mainstream, reputable servers so we don't have to worry about some side-project server going offline someday.

Ideally it would be no cost, but if it costs like $2/month (which is what I pay per month for 100 GB of Google cloud storage, for instance) that'd be fine too.

Confusion with hosting

I have a suggestion that this site is hosted not on GitHub pages. Isn't it?
But credits say that it hosted on GitHub pages.
