Reproduction:

1. Open the search bar (three dots menu "..." > "Search")
2. Type "{"
3. Try to start the search (button with the arrow down icon)

Actual behavior: A toast appears with the message "Syntax error", and the search does not start.

Expected: The search should start without error.

Workaround:
Enable "Regular expression" in the Search preferences menu and seach for "{"

Jota Text Editor 0.2.39

I have installed jota text editor 0.2.39.
After last software os update on Samsung galaxy a54 5g running Android 14, the play store will not allow reinstall. It indicates that app is incompatible.

I find most features are working. Pinch to zoom now open jota menu; add menu to toolbar but will only open once per session; when I press the delete key on the toolbar or a Bluetooth keyboard the app will crash and not save last change.

That last one is PIA when using BT keyboard and you forget.

Jota backup settings were restored from previous phone, I have tried resetting the jota app data and still had same problem. it is difficult to do more tests because I cannot do a full reinstall of the app do you have any suggestions.

local.properties should not be included in version control, which hardcode android sdk path in it.

can please someone tell me why when I scrool to the very end or top of a file and accidentally I keep scrollig by fling jota register a tap and soft keyboard is shown?
also i cannot believe in 2018 a text editor app has not full screen mode SHAME
any other text editor Dont have this issue.

I am building and testing source in android 8.0. Could you submit latest 0.2.38 version that fixed the Android 8.0 problems?

      I import JotaTextEditor source code to Eclipse. But the following error occurred.
