sdmmc_irq_driven_wait() may block forever if something is wrong with the sd card.
A timeout should be added to skip the sdcard if it is corrupt (behave as if no firmware files were present).
It would be nice to be able to skip updating the firmware depending on a GPIO (e.g. button).
Untill now, the update is done whenever the sdcard firmware is different than the flash memory. When programming the flash directly, the bootloader reverts the update by "updating" to the sdcard version after a reboot.
A GPIO to disable the firmware update temporarily would be a simple solution to this problem.
