I guess all of the devices in the Edge 5xx series would use the same core firmware, but just for completeness, I can say that the Edge 520 Plus files import fine. Thanks for the plugin!

On the wahoo elemnt, FIT files are named with a lower case file extension, the file importer expect upper case *.FIT and cannot see the files.
Workaround: renaming the FIT file with an upper case extension allow the FIT file importer to see the files.

When importing a FIT-File I get the following Python error:

File opens without issues in GPXSee.

I get the following error after filling in the first to fields (required) on the 'FIT file importer', the first pointing to the wahoo elemnt exports folder and the second one a folder within my ubuntu documents, then click OK:
