Jason Lengstorf has a lot of ideas.

Hi. I’m Jason. I build lots of demos on this account and the @learnwithjason organization. Most of them are built live on Learn With Jason, a live-streamed pair programming show where super smart people join to teach us something new in 90 minutes.

Improve the opt-in flow for existing subscribers.

Right now, there's a double opt-in for each guide, even if someone is already subscribed. It would be better if a check was in place to spot existing subscribers and move them directly to the opted-in state, skipping the confirmation step.

This would require:

  • An extra Mailchimp API request to determine if the user is already subscribed.
  • Logic to switch from pending to subscribed if the user is already subscribed.

The MC opt-in flow needs to be tested to make sure the right confirmation pages and resources are sent under this workflow.
