Add Japanese meanings
Each kanji should have also a Japanese meaning such that native Japanese students can use this deck too.
There are multiple possible ways to do this.
I have thought of for example:
-
Most used reading associated with the character
字 → じ
-
Explanatory style
字 → かんじ の じ
-
Different options
字 → じ 或いは あざ
Which one is a good one? Which one is a bad one? Can we think of other ways?
Add Heisig names and Heisig framenumbers
Add two new fields to each note:
One for the meaning of the Kanji, the meaning that is used in Heisig's book "Remembering the Kanji".
Another one for the frame number of the Kanji. With this information you can quickly look it up in your copy of the book.
Add Japanese school levels
Add a field for the japanese school levels.
Question: Kanjis in high school are learnt not in a specific school year, so which value to give them. My proposal would be to use the value 7.
For first grade:
level_school: 1
For High school:
level_school: 7
Add instructions to README
Add instructions on how to download and install the deck to README.
Add screenshots to the README
Add some screenshots and maybe photos of the app running on the phone on the readme page.
Check copyright for the Kanji meanings
Check the copyright for the Kanji meanings used.
For example:
- is it ok to use the meanings from wanikani?
- is it ok to use the meanings from heisig?
