IPCortex-Backup-Script

This script remotely downloads backup files from an IPCortex PABX.

Prerequisites

Powershell - To run the script.

Wget - To download the files over HTTP/HTTPS.

.Net - This is used to fix an issue with passwords with special characters.

Features

Downloads all backups for multiple units over HTTP/HTTPS.

Attempts alternative protocol when connection is not available.

If backups fail, notification is sent via email.

Stores multiple backups for multiple units in structured directories.

Fully customizable.

Can be integrated into Windows Task Scheduler.

Supported to version 6.1.6.

Future Improvements

Better handling of empty VM backups.

Compatible with HA environments.

Notes

Call recordings natively exprire after 21 days on IPCortex HDD. This cannot be changed.

Automatic Nightly Backups

There is an additional backup that you can pull with the main backup section if the global setting below is ticked:
General > Advanced > Automatic nightly backups

This has not been considered into the code.

Failed backup test

Need to test what happens if a backup fails after authentication.

Blocked Port Test

Need to clarify how the script reacts when either HTTP or HTTPS ports are blocked.

Email notifications

Failure error messages via email.

Corrupt Backups

VM backups will be corrupt if there is no data to download. It's possible this happens to the other backups.

Structured Storing of Backups for Multiple Systems

Need a better method of storing backups for multiple systems.

HA Backup Export

Script doesn't pull HA backup file.

HTTPS Issue

Won't pull backups via HTTPS

Backup fails if " Force HTTPS web access" is enforced

You will see HTTP timeouts on systems that have " Force HTTPS web access" enabled. This is what fixed the backups for me at least! Something to note.

Certain variables are not clearing

Variables such as $Https are not clearing and are causing backups on the next IPCortex's in the list to fail due to incorrect links.

Unique identifier for each IPCortex in .csv file

Need to ensure that email notifications provide easily identifiable names for every IPCortex.
