Thanks to issue #18314 with MuseScore (version 1.3), MusicXML exports have some weird page breaks and layout issues.

New .mxl files added as a result of .mscz conversion may need to get re-converted in the future to address this issue. Or, this could be fixed by post-processing.

Scores affected (thus far):

• #4 (parts of opus 9)
• #3 (parts of opus 17)
• #2 (parts of opus 34)

Missing Haydn 033_2m4 (The Joke!)

Missing completely: numbers 1, 4, 5, 6.
Missing movement: number 2 mvmt 3.

The Opus 2 string quartets are wholly absent. Fixing will require encoding all 4 of them by hand.

The Henle score has it, musedata is missing it. this happens to be where the second violin's highest note in the mvmt would have occurred.

e.g. F##3 -- only the double-sharp is read, not the octave. As a result,

Haydn's String Quartet Opus 17 number 4 is missing entirely.

Many of the Haydn Quartet representations seem not to have the work title or composers listed in the metadata. This seems to be a problem with the MuseData encodings provided by Stanford.

This means that when you use music21's .show() function to look at a score, the score is displayed missing a title, composer, etc. as follows:

Fixing this would mean changing the original files provided by CCARH, which might be controversial, especially since the files are checked in compressed (so looking at the diffs in music21's revision history is not possible).

There are several of Haydn's quartets where the meter is incorrectly listed as 4/4 when it is in fact in cut time (2/2).

This is a problem with the underlying data.

It happens in the following 18 movements: 020_5m4, 020_6m2, 033_3m1, 033_5m2, 033_6m2, 050_1m1, 050_2m2, 054_2m1, 055_1m1, 055_1m4, 064_1m1, 064_6m1, 074_3m2, 076_3m2, 076_5m2, 077_1m1, 077_1m2, 077_2m1.

This had a wrong note in it.
Will need to do mscz -> musixml -> music21

Haydn Opus 1#1 (a 5-movement work) is included instead.
