The current version on npm is 0.9.6. Not the latest tag of 1.0.

Starting thin with the --ssl option I don't see hubot in the people listing,

The adapter subscribes to all channels at startup, and there appears to be a race condition or similar that causes it to subscribe to existing channels too many times when it's initialized.
