Magisk-iOS-Emoji

Systemlessly replaces emoji font with iOS Emoji

Tip

If you encounter issues installing and using on KernelSU, consider trying either this module from dtingley11 or this module from bugreportion.

I'll be working on streamlining the code and adding KernelSU support soon. Life has been quite busy lately!

magisk-ios-emoji's Issues

Module Tested on OneUI 5.0 βœ…

Module working well with S22Ultra (OneUI 5.0 - S908B) except Telegram app

[tested on: GBoard, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Instagram]

Emoji didnt change

Hey Guys, i'm new in GitHub. My issue ist that the Emoji didnt change after installing and rebooting. For example in Snapchat they didn't change:/
So I'm currently on a Custom ROM on the 8 Pro. Any guesses why it didn't workπŸ€”
Thanks in advance

Does not seem to work on Nothing phone(1)

No change on the emoji styles

Update: I tried another module and it worked after i copied the .tff file to /data/fonts/files and the folder containing the old .tff file and it worked. That fix would probably work for this module too.

Some emojis don't replace in certain apps

Small number of emojis (for example 🌹🫢) don't replace in certain apps like Instagram while they work in other apps. I've cleared cache and deleted files under /data/font/files/.

iOS 17 Update

I hope there will be an ios 17 emojis soon. There's kind of a lot of new emojis added.

Stopped working after some time

I have been using this module for a very long time and at one moment it stopped working, and flags emojis are showing like letters. I have no such files "/data/font/files" to clean. I've also delete data of gboard, which didn't help. My device is Poco F4 A14. How to solve?

Replacing iOS TTF file with a custom one

Hi!
This is the first font changer module I've come across that seems to support Samsung Devices. (I haven't tried it out yet as I don't want iOS emojis).
I was wondering if I could just change up the TTF file with one that I do want and if it would work the same way. There's shouldn't be any issues, right?
Any help is appreciated!

Possible Zygote loop

When I installed the module, my phone got stuck on my ROM logo. Checking Magisk logs showed multiple "Restarting Zygote" messages, removing the module (/data/adb/modules/ is the directory where Magisk stores its modules if you are stuck) fixed the issue.

Android: 12.1
ROM: ArrowOS GAPPS
Phone: Xiaomi Mi 9T (Global)
Magisk version: 25.2
Module version: v15.4.5

How do you create the fonts?

I'm curious to know the method you used to create an Android compatible Apple Color emoji font.

I want to make some changes to certain kind of emoji's. Can you share your secret?

Not working with Instagram on latest EvolutionX

Screenshot_20240507-023924_Pixel Launcher~2

As the title says, I am unable to make emojis work with Instagram. Everywhere else I can use them fine.

Hopefully someone's got a fix here for this

ROM: Evolution X 9.0 (LineageOS base)
Android ver.:14.0
Magisk ver: Kitsune Mask canary

No custom themes installed. No font packs installed.

Thanks

new release 17.4

hi, thanks again for your work. could you please update the emojis with 17.4 release? thanks

Add to Magisk Alt Repo

It would be nice if this could be added to Magisk Alt Repo, so that I could get automatic updates for it on my device.

I imagine they'd prefer if the lead developer submitted the package, but I could do so (and maintain the updates there) if need be.

Not working on KernelSU

I know this module was created for Magisk but since KernelSU support module installation, I tried installing this module but for some reason it didn't work, while all other modules I installed are working completely fine.

Device: Pixel 7 Pro
Magisk: Module working βœ…
KernelSU: Installed but doesn't work ❌

Works on Pixel 8 Pro

Tested with the stock ROM on Android 14. Checked inside of Gboard, Snapchat and Instagram.

Module Tested on OxygenOS 13.0 βœ…

Module working well with OnePlus 11 (OxygenOS - CPH2449 - A.09)
[tested on: GBoard, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Instagram]

Need to delete all [/data/fonts/files/{random gibberish characters}] before flashing

Working on Galaxy A21s

It works and I'm using an android 13 GSI but it should also work on any other rom

messenger custom emoji still showing fb emojis

20220928_003500
Screenshot_20220928-004538_Messenger
Emojis are working fine but custom conversation emojis on messenger still shows fb emojis instead of ios emojis. Also installation f'd up Messenger emoji permission so it won't work at first, you'll have to revert the permissions first to default then wait for the messenger emojis to update first and then you can now manually replace the ttf on app_ras_blobs in order to make it work for Messenger

Stop working after sometime

When I flashed it was working then I removed and reflashed and still not working then I reset phone and root again then I flashed and it started working again and again after sometime it stopped working.

ROM: RUI4.0
Device: Realme 10 Pro Plus

My emojis didn't change

It was working but it's not working anymore for 2 days. How could I reset the module or uninstall and reinstall ?
