docker-librespot's Introduction

This container runs a headless Spotify player that can be remote-controlled by any Spotify app. Audio is output to a pipe, which can be consumed in another container or the host system by alsa, pulseaudio, forked-daapd (to Airplay), snapserver, etc.

This requires a Spotify premium account, but does not require a Spotify developer key or libspotify binary.

The process run is librespot, an open source client library for Spotify.

Examples

Play audio to /tmp/spotify-pipe:

Uses old librespot github repository

My build fails, because of an issue in getopts 0.2.14
I think the downloaded librespot git repository under https://github.com/plietar/librespot is deprecated and the URL should be changed to more recent repo under https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot

Exits immediately

When I try to run this image, it exists immediately and prints some long hash to the console.

docker run -d -e SPOTIFY_NAME=Docker -e SPOTIFY_USER=<MY_EMAIL> -e SPOTIFY_PASSWORD=<MY_PASSWORD> kevineye/librespot

Any clues? I thought this was supposed to run a Spotify Connect node.

standard_init_linux.go:219: exec user process caused: exec format error

The image exits immediately.
Issue title is from the image's log.
I've used Portainer to pull the image, all variables were defined as per the README.
