Everything else seems to work fine. But the taskbar module never shows up.

I'm not sure if I intalled the bar properly. what's the proper whay to install it?? I downloaded the repo and created a new .rmsskin file. After installed the slider are locked, don't move at all, gmail, whem i insert my email and click on password the email vanishes, etc...

Hi, very excited to see this adaptation of Polybar for Windows. The only thing I seem to be having trouble with is getting the app launcher to work. I understand it's one of the features not available in the 1.0 Rainmeter skin package, and I've tried stacking some of the components from the Github on top of the original stuff as well as using the current Github build, but when I can get the skin to work at all with the new stuff, it continues to open the typical Windows taskbar launcher when I click the Windows button. Before I go crazy overwriting stuff, is there anything specific I have to change/delete to get this component to work? Thanks.

I wanted to know if it's possible to add output of a custom script to the bar as a module? We have this in the traditional Polybar and it's extremely useful for displaying arbitrary information.

I used rainmeter for simple suites but this time I wanted to make a difficult one using polybar as the taskbar but I found some problem (sorry for italian screenshots, I tried to make the problems understable):
-discord module doesn't work as it should (https://imgur.com/a/jXPP0Tv)
-opera gx (my browser) is on taskbar also when it's closed or it's already opened (https://imgur.com/a/0OBDu5Z)
-tray (where there are program running in background), start working if I use at least one time the real tray from the windows taskbar from when I start the pc (can't make screenshot, because they are useless here)
-Some program (like windows setting) are hidden in the taskbar (https://imgur.com/a/bbAkeVL)

I am wondering about the possibility of enabling a secondary bar for a secondary display. If this is a feature that is already possible, it's not clear to me how to make that happen. If it isn't, then consider this a feature request.

polybar does not fit my screen

I was using my laptop as usual and suddenly i couldnt type... Today, i killed keypress.exe from task manager and now the keyboard works fine... any idea on why this is happenning?

I use MPV to stream online internet radio or play files, I want the metadata of these to appear in the now playing section, is there any possible implementation of this? thanks!

The music control doesn't seem to work with YouTube music, I am using the desktop app for it. I am unsure if this is not added or simply not working because I saw YouTube in the supported for it.

Try to implement DesktopWorkArea in rainmeter, giving a (polybar-height) pixels free space for polybar to take up. The "work area" is defined as the space where windows can take up. By reducing the work area, we can use that space for polybar to take up and not cover or be covered by other windows, similar to the taskbar (when not set to auto hide) in Windows or the OG polybar.

The work area should be the screen, but only chop off the height of Polybar. That way, windows can roam freely without covering polybar.

Why?

When using Polybar, can we snap and lock it to the screen so that it doesn't cover the top part/title bar of windows? Similar to the taskbar (when not set to auto-hide), it doesn't cover the bottom part of the windows.

As you can see, Polybar is covering the title bar of Windows Terminal, which is quite annoying and not aesthetically pleasing.

Polybar on Linux doesn't cover up the title bar of Windows. Is there a way for me to not make Polybar do this?

EDIT/WORKAROUND: No gaps, but do this. First, open settings > taskbar settings, and put taskbar to stay topmost on the screen. You may choose to have smaller taskbar buttons if you want polybar to be shorter. Then, right click polybar > edit style, and change height to 30 (or whatever you like). This will hide the taskbar and still lets you do functionalities like opening the start menu.

This still doesn't work as the taskbar would just override everything when clicking on a window. I need to make the skin stay topmost, but it prevents me from using the title bar buttons.

If you prefer to use large taskbar buttons, then the height would be 40.

Saw the other comment down that said a PC restart fixed it, however made no difference for me. I used Polybar on my PC perfectly before, however after downloading on a factory install it no longer works.

Hi, I'm using the pratous theme. Is there any way I can make the corners of the bar rounded?

I am using dwm-win32 by prabirshrestha to bring the dynamic window management workflow of dwm from Linux to Windows 10. As a work in progress, it's pretty amazing, but I desired an alternative bar to the default dwm bar that would be much more configurable. So far, I'm working with polybar to make this happen and for the most part the two programs play very nicely together. However, polybar uses WorkspaceManager.exe while dwm-win32 uses its own separate tag-switching mechanism and the two don't correspond. I was wondering if it might be possible to include support for alternatives to WorkspaceManager.exe within the workspace switcher module of polybar, so that instead of switching polybar workspaces, I can use that switcher module to control my dwm tags instead. Or if there was a way for me to sync both workspaces and tags, such as if I can configure WorkspaceManager.exe to respond to the same keybindings that dwm uses. Or else be able to program alternative actions that occur when clicking on the workspace numbers in the polybar (e.g. clicking workspace 2 would instead trigger the event that causes dwm-win32 to switch to tag #2 instead of triggering the default switch to Workspace #2).

if you increase the length of polybar, an invisible area underneath the bar will increase as well, preventing you from clicking 'underneath' it. this is annoying when attempting to close a window or switch tabs because it won't let you. i also don't want to set it's position beneath all other windows. also, increasing or decreasing the height doesn't help.can this be fixed?

I tried changing both music_Current_Player and music_NowPlaying_Player, and any combination possible, it still doesn't work. It just stays n/a - n/a.

When i installed the bar it was too big(my monitor is 1366 and the bar was 1866 long) when i changes the length it just shortened the black background/color of the bar and not the bar itself

The music module does not display the Artist nor the Song name, but the controls such as pause, play and skip work fine.

This is basically the native windows application for GPM as they do not have their own. Kinda the spotify app for GPM. I and many others use this primarily for their GMP music play back, could the polybar be adapted to use that as its media player? If it is already possible and I am missing something, please let me know! Thank you so very much!

Not all open programs appear on the taskbar

In polybar setting, I enable something named mouseCoverOn(not sure about its name?) from then bar disappears as I move the mouse over it. Now I'm unable to disable it as I can't access setting from where I had enabled it. Also, I tried reinstalling it but the same happens with it as well.

When trying to use the Discord module, all I'm getting is a blank screen with two horizontal white lines on the bottom. I'm not seeing anything in any config files, but it's possible I'm missing something?
