What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Upload mail with Google Email Uploader from Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6
2. Check the mail on gmail.com
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that unanswered Sent Items show up in Sent Items folder (I'm not
talking about sent items that are part of conversations), but instead they show
up in Inbox and the sender is "me" (they are sent from the address I'm using as
the primary email address for thes account).
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Google Email Uploader 1.1.2 on OS X 10.5.8 and OS X server 10.5.7 - same

Please provide any additional information below.
I have accounts with 50 000 - 120 000 mails, where on one account out of 50 000

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Read the docs
2. See that gmail accounts are not supported by google email uploader
3. Cry.
I'm not sure if this limitation is political or technical, but I would
definitely take advantage of such a
tool to migrate my family to gmail (not google apps).
Are there plans to support migration to plain-old-gmail accounts in the future?
I've been searching

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run google mail uploader with a lot (over 10,000) emails from the Mail app
2. Let it go for about six hours
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a/ Uploader functions normally, computer functions normally.
b/ The actual situation is that my computer becomes almost unusable, the
uploader is using
over 1gb of real memory, 3gb of virtual memory, and the mail uploads to the
google servers are
incredibly slow. Eventually the uploader hangs and I have to reboot.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.1
Mac os 10.6.2 snow leopard.
Macbook pro 2.66ghz with 2gb RAM and lots of free hard drive space, few
applications running.

play ball with
IMAP either), lots of timeouts and errors on various clients.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create subfolders in your mail boxes
2. Tell the uploader to use mailboxes to create labels
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would hope it would create labels in the form of
"Mailbox1/SubFolder1/Subfolder2". Instead it creates individual labels:
"Mailbox1", "Subfolder1","Subfolder2" and then applies them to the message.
In understand the thinking behind this but it would be handy to have a tick
box that lets you upload it the first way I mentioned.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Begin uploading email
2. Disconnect internet connection
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ideally, instead of having the transfer restart, it should resume.
Please provide any additional information below.
I have a large amount of email (~60,000) messages I was attempting to
upload. Roughly half way through, I briefly lost connectivity. The email
uploader stopped the transfer. This means that I must start from the
beginning and re-upload all mail. I may end up with a very large number of
duplicates. Instead, would it be possible to have the uploader "pause"
instead of "stop" when a connection is lost? This would save on transfer
time, time spent removing duplicates, and space used on the email account.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create Entourage or Mac Mail boxes with Folders and Sub-folders - and just
for fun Sub-Sub-folders.
2. Populate said folders with some messages
3. Enabled Nested Label (google apps lab)
4. Use google-mail-uploader-mac to migrate your email to google apps.
- Expected: Subfolders in email client will be migrated to corresponding nested
labels.
- Actual: All Subfolders are migrated to root labels, vs nested labels.
- Using google-email-uploader-mac 1.1.2
- Tested on Mac OS X 10.4 (PPC), OSX 10.6 (Intel)
- Tested using MacMail 3 and Entourage 2004 & 2008
This is a huge issue for users who have spent years keeping their current
client email organized into folders and sub-folders. We need an easy way to
have sub-folders migrated to nested labels.
The current tool flattens out the sub-folders to root labels, vs nested labels.
This should be an easy fix/feature add. And will probably increase userbase
if migration to google apps is not so painful.
