Hi!

I was trying to build a wine portable.sh but I am always getting a 1,3 MB file.

I have the chroots under /home/builder/chroots/

I'd like to have wine-5.7-staging-improved-amd64.tar.xz portable executable but like I said, I not getting it right.

What I am doing wrong ?

1. create_ubuntu_chroots.sh

2. create_wine_runtime.sh (I have edited the paths to chroots else it wont work)

3. build_squashfuse.sh

4. create_wine_portable.sh

great project I love the idea, I just downloaded a release and when I try to run it after making it executable I get :

/tmp/wine-portable-6.0-rc2-staging-amd64.sh_guest_26262/mnt/wine.sh: line 22: /tmp/wine-portable-6.0-rc2-staging-amd64.sh_guest_26262/mnt/wine/bin/wine: No such file or directory

Have you seen this before?

I'm using kali linux which comes with a single root user. Whenever I try to run wine-portable-5.2-staging-amd64.sh I get this message:

Do not run this app as root!

Can you change this behaviour?

• Are you aware of https://github.com/sudo-give-me-coffee/wine32-deploy and https://github.com/Hackerl/Wine_Appimage?
• What were the reason you decided not to use AppImage but something (very) similar?

I've been trying to get this to work for some time now. I installed all required libraries, cloned the project and ran create_wine_portable.sh. This made a wine-portable.sh, which gives me the following input once I run it:
Wine (amd64) Portable SquashFS

tar: Error opening archive: Unrecognized archive format
chmod: cannot access '/tmp/wine-portable.sh_nrb_29965/squashfuse/squashfuse-amd64/squashfuse': No such file or directory
./wine-portable.sh: line 98: /tmp/wine-portable.sh_nrb_29965/squashfuse/squashfuse-amd64/squashfuse: No such file or directory
Mounting the squashfs image failed!

I also downloaded the ready-to-go binary called wine-portable-5.15-staging-amd64.sh. Running it gives me the following issue:
