Kudos and thank you for creating this great program. It allows linux users
to run mac widgets, how cool is that?! On a more serious note, I don't
know what issue is causing the problem, and whether the Kludgets Engine has
the necessary ports for the widget to run correctly. Please look into this
problem, I am really looking forward to it. Ideally, the whole widget
would work, complete with the features listed on the widget website.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,

Widget menu. When clicked the text within the menu is displayed for a
moment but all that is finally displayed is the transparent frame where the
menu text should be. It seems to be an issue with text display as the menu
still seems to work if clicked on where then text should be.

The configuration script for the Weather Kludget is incorrectly written.
...not sure if the source for this is a seperate repository. However, the zip
is named com.kludgets.weather.zip, and this is included in the default Kludget
installer package
On line 79 in weather.js the following is written:
"userUnit = Kludget.Settings.read('kludget/weather/useMetric', 0) ? 'm' : 's';"
However, this always evaluates to 0, regardless of the configuration file value
in the widget preferences.xml.
Suggest changing this to:
"userUnit = Kludget.Settings.read('kludget/weather/useMetric', 0)==1 ? 'm' :
's';
Which correctly interprets a 1 in the preferences file as 'm' and a 0 as 's'.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a plugin retrieving data from a web service via AJAX
2. Go to Kludgets preferences\network page
3. Enable proxy and enter username/password
4. Click Apply/Save
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The widget should retrieve data from the web service and display this data
(this actually works when opening the widget html page via a web browser).
Instead, the CPU is used at 100%, the machine stops responding and the
Kludget engine hangs forever. It is not even possible to try debugging via
web inspector as it hangs too.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Kludget engine 0.9.7 windows
Windows server 2008 enterprise
Prototype.js 1.6.1 (using previous version did not solve the issue)
Please provide any additional information below.
The widget created retrieves data from a free Internet web service
(GeoIPService). Using a web browser with the proxy identification allowing
to go on the Internet, everything works fine. Under Kludget, starting the
engine+widget gives a "NETWORK_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 101" in the
widget main js file (seen under web inspector - just after the
xmlhttprequest.send() function). To resolve this issue, one needs to modify
the Kludget engine preferences to use a proxy and give it the credentials
in the form of domain\username+password. this is where the issue at hand
occurs.
