Want to know before attempting to install it. Looking for an HTTPS Everywhere equivalent for Safari but it seems Safari doesn't allow safe rewriting of HTTP to HTTPS in address bar links. This is the closest project I could find which claims to do so.

Just went through the process of installing the extension myself -- huge pain. It'd be a huge benefit to many folks if you just provided a bundled extension to download.

As of early 2012, the Safari extension API does not offer a way to perform secure rewriting of http requests to https. But if you happen to know a way to perform secure request rewriting in these browsers, feel free to let us know at https-everywhere at EFF.org (but note that modifying document.location or window.location in JavaScript is not secure).

Consider linking to Using Extension Builder in the README, rather than the link to how to create your own extension within Xcode Safari Extension Development Guide. The latter is a guide to developing something like SSL Everywhere from scratch, while the former is a guide to installing one already in existence (such as this).

I may miss something but I'd love to use this without having to install a bunch of Ruby build dependencies. Would you mind providing a ready-to-install version of the extension?
