docker-ethereum's Issues

geth testnet

/root/testnet.sh: line 12: /usr/bin/geth: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
dockerethereum_testnet_1 exited with code 126

What now? :)

So i'm trying to get started with ethereum and am not sure really how to begin in a way that I can understand. There are a bunch of "tutorials" that read more like a book than a step by step tutorial I would normally expect.

So I got the docker-compose.yml setup and I ran the following commands:

$ docker-compose up -d
$ docker ps
$ docker attach <name>

And now I'm staring at an open terminal:

root@0b4b8edd40fd:/#

What now? :)

What I would like to do is figure out how to write a very simple program, upload it, run it, query the results somehow.

Ultimately what I want to figure out how to do is to write an app that can trigger execution and query results. I'm not sure what form I want that to take yet, either a webservice or a desktop app maybe.

Anyway, if you could help me get those first couple of baby steps I could probably take off from there and I would reallly appreciate it.

Fatal: Unable to attach to remote geth: dial unix /root/.ethereum/geth.ipc: connect: no such file or directory

Hi,
I've just pulled ethereum-geth-devnet and ethereum-geth-console, edited the docker-compose.yml to comment out the testnet (I only need a devnet at this point, is the test net mandatory?) and started the devnet up as indicated (docker-compose up -d). Worked well, I see the miner mining on the devnet.
Then I've tried docker attach but got this error message
Fatal: Unable to attach to remote geth: dial unix /root/.ethereum/geth.ipc: connect: no such file or directory
Just to try, I've also tried a geth --dev attach in Powershell and sure enough, got a Fatal: Unable to attach to remote geth: Timed out waiting for pipe '\.\pipe\geth.ipc' to come available
This on Win10 with docker for Windows
