Userscripts are plain old JS files that run in browser's context via some 3rd party extension.

I think that this extension will make more sense as a Userscript, here are my reasons:

• You solve the distribution problem by delegating it to existing Userscript managers. There's GreaseMonkey for Firefox, TamperMonkey for Chrome & Safari etc

So, you ask your users to download one of the above extensions and then all they need to do is open up your repo in the browser and hit 'install'. (check out this readme to see how he has done it)

• You get cross browser support for free!

The only downsides that I can think of:

• You need to come up with a different name (all i can think of is chromefiresafaritoeba 😜 )
• I think some minor changes will be required to the script too, since you' are modifying the right click context menu.

There are a few things that a Userscript can't do but a browser extension can, but I don't think modifying context menus is one of them.
