sketch-easing-gradient's Issues

Define Stops by percentage

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Coming from Photoshop our Design Team is used to work with precise Stops in the gradient. Dividing a gradient in to 10 Stops, like sketch does it natively via the number keys, works "ok". But being even more precise and converting existing designs it would be awesome to have the ability to work with that percentage

Describe the solution you'd like
Define a step with percentage. From where i understand the percentage is available because it is copied into the css code already

But nevertheless this plugin is giving the gradient tool what it is lacking ... thanks for that. Keep on rockin ;)

Plugin Warns It Cannot Parse Layer Name

Describe the bug
In the latest version of Sketch (v50.2), whenever using the plugin on a layer for the first time, a warning comes up that it "couldn't parse the layer name". Once the plugin has been used on a layer, using it again on the same layer does not generate the warning - i.e., the warning only seems to appear on first use.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open a new, blank document in the latest version of Sketch
  2. Draw a simple rectangle
  3. Set the fill of the rectangle to a simple vertical linear gradient (e.g., yellow to green)
  4. With the rectangle still selected, open the Easing Gradient Plugin (Plugins -> Easing Gradient -> Edit Easing Gradient)

Automatically update gradient when layer name is changed.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Not directly related to a problem, but a shortcut to the current plugin flow.

Describe the solution you'd like
Whenever I rename a layer name, the plugin would fetch data changed, updating the gradient accordingly.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Nothing to add.

Additional context
Nothing to add.

Ability to Generate Radial Gradients

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
While many gradients are linear, some are also radial. Is there any way to easily convert these code snippets into the radial syntax.

Describe the solution you'd like
Either a toggle to choose between a radial or linear gradient, or some way to detect what type of gradient is being used based on the sketch gradient type.

Describe alternatives you've considered
You can change linear-gradient to radial-gradient but it doesn't render very well and seems to have quite a bit of banding.

Does not work with Sketch 48.2

Can see the menu but nothing happens when I click on it. Tha layer with a gradient is selected, I have already worked with this plugin in sketch 50 and everything was fine.

Plugin Unable to Create 'Steps' Gradient

Describe the bug
The plugin seems to be unable to create a gradient using the 'steps' function - when selecting 'steps' from the function dropdown, it seems to simply ignore the change, and still applies whatever function was selected previously.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a new, blank Sketch document
  2. Draw a simple rectangle
  3. Set the fill of the rectangle to a simple, vertical gradient - e.g., going from yellow to green
  4. While the rectangle is still selected, open the Easing Gradient plugin
  5. Select any of the available functions, and then select 'steps': the gradient inside the rectangle does not change to a 'step' function, and displays whatever function was previously selected.

Expected behavior
We would expect to see a 'step'-gradient, such as the ones we get when using the test online Editor here.

Screenshots
Unfortunately, using the "step-gradient" function inside the plugin does not generate a step-gradient- it merely leaves whatever function had been selected previously:

Sketch Version 61 (89581) crashes upon using the Plugin

Describe the bug
I tested multiple files in different gradients. Whenever I open the plugin, Sketch quits unexpectedly a few seconds after.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Select a layer with a gradient
  2. Select the gradient
  3. Go to 'Plugins'
  4. Click on '๐ŸŒˆ Easing Gradient'
  5. Click 'Edit Easing Gradient'

If helpful, I could provide a crashlog?

No Sketch file in the package.

Describe the bug
There does not appear to be a Sketch file within the package to open.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to '...'
  2. Click on '...'
  3. Scroll down to '...'
  4. See error

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
