Originally, we were trying to avoid keeping e-mail addresses, but the reality is that we need a way to contact people for a variety of reasons, including data breaches, maintenance outages, policy changes, pricing changes, etc.

So, it's not too much to expect that people can be invited to connect by e-mail. That would simplify the invitation process, as it would avoid my convoluted process of finding the Clean Routines user ID and sending it to someone. However, we may have to consider that the e-mail address I know someone by, is not the e-mail address that they used (or will use) when they sign up to Clean Routines.

Ideally, I figure out the pattern to go to a link, get interrupted by the login screen, and continue to the link.

So the flow is now like:

1. Invite someone (similar to devise_invitable's default screen)
2. Person gets an e-mail describing what they're being invited to, a link to sign up, and a link to accept or decline the invitation to connect
3. If they click the link to accept of decline, they end up on a screen that says log in or sign up (default Devise?), unless they're already logged in

Something else to explore: Even though it's me inviting you, I'm really inviting you to work with someone. So the link is really between the User and the Person, and it can be directed. However, we still need to maintain some sort of permission about who can create these links. There needs to be a concept of "admin" of a Person, and this has to be assignable, revocable, etc.
