the-moby-effect's Issues

Common docker commands

What is the problem this feature would solve?

Maybe help with testing? I think it would be cool to override the common docker cli commands of the official docker cli and then build a couple of projects from submodules that are built with docker - it the commands are implemented correctly here then the project should still build fine

What is the feature you are proposing to solve the problem?

Implement all common docker commands as CLIs except for login/logout because I don't want to interact with credential helpers

What alternatives have you considered?

Docker compose support?

What is the problem this feature would solve?

Allow consumers to interact with docker compose files

What is the feature you are proposing to solve the problem?

I am interested in adding docker compose support somehow. From my brief knowledge of docker compose, it is just a plugin that utilizes only existing apis, it does not define any new apis. Maybe this should be an additional package then? Or maybe it could just be a small module here?

I'm interested in how you would use docker compose and what features you are looking for specifically, so leave your feedback below!

What alternatives have you considered?

Different layers for Moby, Docker, and Podman

What is the problem this feature would solve?

Podman implements most of the Moby apis, but not all of them.

What is the feature you are proposing to solve the problem?

There should be different layers for Podman and Docker then.

What alternatives have you considered?

No response
