Cheesto Dandelion Extension

This extension interfaces with Dandelion's public API to display the Cheesto status and recent log entries.

Requirements

  • Recent version of Chrome or Firefox
  • Dandelion v6+

Use Instructions

Chrome:

  1. Right click the extension icon
  2. Click Options
  3. Enter the domain name or IP of your Dandelion instance
  4. Enter your API Key from Dandelion (found under Settings -> API Key in Dandelion)
  5. Click Save Options
  6. Click the extension icon to see user statuses and logs

Firefox:

  1. Open the Menu in the top right (three horizontal lines)
  2. Click Add-ons
  3. Find "Cheesto User Status" and click Preferences to the right
  4. Enter the domain name or IP of your Dandelion instance
  5. Enter your API Key from Dandelion (found under Settings -> API Key in Dandelion)
  6. Click Save Options
  7. Click the extension icon to see user statuses and logs

Build Instructions

Chrome:

  1. Clone this git repo
  2. In Chrome, enable developer mode
  3. Click "Load unpacked extension" in extension management
  4. Navigate to the folder where you cloned the repo and select the folder

Firefox:

  1. Clone this git repo
  2. Create a zip file of the repository contents
  3. In Firefox, go to "about:debugging"
  4. Click "Load Temporary Add-on"
  5. Navigate to the folder where you created the zip file and open it

Versioning

For transparency into the release cycle and in striving to maintain backward compatibility, the Cheesto Chrome Extension is maintained under the Semantic Versioning guidelines. Sometimes we screw up, but we'll adhere to these rules whenever possible.

Releases will be numbered with the following format:

<major>.<minor>.<patch>

And constructed with the following guidelines:

  • Breaking backward compatibility bumps the major while resetting minor and patch
  • New additions without breaking backward compatibility bumps the minor while resetting the patch
  • Bug fixes and misc changes bumps only the patch
